This political song, written by Janis Joplin with Michael McClure and Bob Neuwirth, was recorded in just one take three days, was recorded in just one take three days before she died of an overdose on October 1, 1970. It is the last song she recorded and so became a sort of final Message for many fans.
Following the tradition of early protest songs was kept in its rough original form without any further additions (instruments, vocals etc.).
